About Us

40+ years of green
manufacturing heritage.

The Englewood facility has operated under three names since opening in 2018 — all built on the same recycled-material manufacturing foundation established by Hematite in 1978.

Our Story

This facility. Three names. One mission.

In 2017, Hematite broke ground on a 105,000+ sq. ft. facility at 300 Lau Pkwy in Englewood, Ohio — its U.S. headquarters and first American manufacturing plant. Production started in Q1 2018, serving Ford, Chrysler, and Toyota with acoustic, airflow, and water deflection products made from recycled materials.

In 2021, Woodbridge Group acquired Hematite, operating the Englewood site as Woodbridge Englewood (NVH Division). In 2023, Angstrom Automotive Group acquired the compressed fiber product operations, and the facility became Angstrom Fiber Englewood — a division of Angstrom Fiber Group under Angstrom NA.

The manufacturing process and green-first philosophy that drove the original Hematite investment remain unchanged. What changed is the global reach, engineering resources, and customer network that Angstrom brings.

Facility History

2018 – Present

1978 — Foundation

Charles Pavanel founds Hematite in Canada, pioneering the conversion of automotive PVC trim scrap into reinstallable vehicle components. The green-manufacturing model that defines this facility's DNA is established.

2017 — Groundbreaking

Hematite breaks ground on a 105,000+ sq. ft. facility at 300 Lau Pkwy, Englewood, Ohio — its first U.S. plant and American headquarters. The $18M project is supported by Montgomery County Economic Development.

2018 — Hematite Englewood Opens

Production begins in Q1 2018. The facility manufactures NVH products — acoustic insulators, wheel liners, body plugs, air deflectors, and underbody covers — for Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, and other major OEMs using recycled materials.

2021 — Woodbridge Englewood (NVH Div.)

Woodbridge Group acquires Hematite, adding heat, water, and air management solutions to its portfolio. The Englewood site operates as Woodbridge Englewood, NVH Division. Capabilities expand with additional lightweight materials for next-generation NVH and EV applications.

2023 — Angstrom Fiber Englewood

Angstrom Automotive Group acquires the compressed fiber product operations. The Englewood facility becomes Angstrom Fiber Englewood, a division of Angstrom Fiber Group under Angstrom NA — joining a global network of 15 companies and 33 locations across three continents.
