Capabilities

Three core processes.
One facility.

Compression molding, vacuum forming, and fiber processing — supported by robotic waterjet cutting, assembly, and full quality and engineering services under one roof in Englewood, Ohio.

Manufacturing Processes

What we do, and how we do it.

Compression Molding

High-pressure forming of fiber-reinforced composites, sheet molding compound (SMC), and glass mat thermoplastic (GMT) to net-shape automotive parts. Capable of complex geometry, tight tolerances, and high-volume repeatability.

Vacuum Forming

Thermoforming and vacuum forming of thermoplastic sheet and composite materials into three-dimensional automotive geometries. Ideal for large-area interior and underbody panels with complex surface detail.

Fiber Processing

Polyester and recycled-material fiber production, controlled layup, and forming for NVH, underbody protection, acoustic absorption, and interior lining applications. Our green manufacturing foundation since 1978.

Robotic Waterjet Cutting

Precision 5-axis robotic waterjet trimming for complex geometries, tight-tolerance edge profiles, and repeatable cut quality on molded and formed parts. No tooling wear, no heat distortion.

Assembly & Sub-Assembly

Lamination, adhesive bonding, hardware attachment, kitting, and OEM-compliant packaging. We deliver assemblies ready for vehicle installation, reducing your line-side complexity.

Engineering & Quality

On-site engineering for DFMEA, prototype development, and PPAP documentation. Full quality management aligned with IATF 16949. Customer-specific requirements met or exceeded.

Process Flow

From raw material to ready-to-install.

01

Material Preparation

Fiber layup, sheet material conditioning, or compound preparation to program specification.

02

Forming

Compression molding or vacuum forming to net shape. Heat, pressure, and cycle time controlled to spec.

03

Trim & Finish

Robotic waterjet trimming, edge finishing, and surface inspection to dimensional requirements.

04

Assembly & Ship

Sub-assembly, lamination, hardware, quality gate, OEM packaging, and JIT delivery.

Facility

105,000+ sq. ft. of manufacturing floor.

Our Englewood facility was purpose-built as Hematite's U.S. headquarters in 2017-2018. The state-of-the-art steel structure comprises four connected buildings with full bolted roof joist system, mechanical mezzanine, and dedicated receiving and production areas.

Location Advantage

Englewood, Ohio sits in the Dayton metro — at the intersection of I-70 and I-75, within 500 miles of most major OEM assembly plants in the Midwest corridor.
